
The 44th edition of the Tourist Showcase of the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (ANATO) takes place from February 26 to 28. In this event, Oaxaca has captivated thousands of professionals with its natural attractions, cultural diversity, and gastronomic richness. Colombia is the third market of visitors to Mexico, with a Real Annual Growth Rate of 26.8% of visitors to Oaxaca, according to the Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda Velasco.
Governor Salomón Jara Cruz considers tourism as an engine of economic development, so his administration strives to promote the attractions and wealth of Oaxaca in national and international markets. In order to increase economic output and the arrival of visitors, they aim to attract Colombian visitors, whose economic output exceeds 25 million pesos annually.
In collaboration with the municipal government of Santa María Huatulco, the event "Mexico is felt with the flavor of Huatulco" took place, presented before more than 100 industry professionals. The state function aims to share the richness of Oaxaca and highlight its tourist attractions, such as the beaches of the region. Destinations such as Huatulco, Zicatela in Puerto Escondido, and the Manialtepec Lagoon have been promoted, as well as protected natural areas and magical towns like Mazunte.
During the Tourist Showcase, meetings have been held with tour operators, airlines, and hotel chains, as well as promotional videos of the state projected. The Secretary of Tourism has presented Oaxaca's tourist offerings to media outlets and content creators specializing in tourism. Agreements have been established for the marketing of tourist packages and the arrival of flights from Colombia to Huatulco.
